Why Nexgen was formed

​

Nexgen Lettings & Management was created from years of working within the property industry and seeing, first-hand, how landlords, tenants and agents interact.

​

We had also experienced the process from the other side, as landlords ourselves. In particular, managing property from outside the city made us very aware of how dependent a landlord can become on the agent looking after their investment.

At times, we saw how easy it was for properties to become just another number.

 

Maintenance could be delayed or overlooked, communication could feel limited, and the level of attention to detail was not always what we would have expected if we were managing the property ourselves.That experience stayed with us.

Rather than simply accepting that as part of the traditional agency model, we wanted to build something that filled those gaps.

​

Nexgen was formed around a simple principle: we look after the properties we manage as if they were our own.

​

That means thinking beyond the next rent payment or the next repair. We look at the long-term condition of the property, the quality of the tenancy, the relationship with the tenant and the overall protection of the landlord’s investment.

We believe good property management comes from attention to detail, early intervention and clear communication. Small issues should be picked up before they become expensive ones.

 

Tenants should feel comfortable reporting problems. Landlords should feel confident that somebody is genuinely keeping an eye on their property rather than simply reacting when something goes wrong.

 

Although Nexgen is a relatively new company, the experience behind it is not. Our two directors have spent many years working within property, lettings and property management, learning what works, what does not, and what both landlords and tenants genuinely value.

 

Starting Nexgen gave us the opportunity to take everything we had learned and build the service from scratch, without being tied to outdated systems or a rigid way of working.

 

As a family-run business, relationships, trust and personal accountability matter to us. We want to build long-lasting relationships with the people we work with, not simply manage a property for the short term.

 

For us, every property represents something important to someone. It may be a landlord’s investment, pension or long-term financial security, while for the tenant it is their home. We understand the responsibility that comes with both.
